If you know someone who gives their time for free to help others we want to hear about them. It could be your local scout leader, someone who helps clear the canal or even someone who does their next door neighbours shopping. Shirley Rudkin - 'Shirley is a trooper, takes real ownership of her gardening tasks and provides fantastic homemade cakes for the team. She really is an inspirational character. Always cheery and is much loved across the site here at Shugborough.'

Jeanette Aldridge - Initially an IT Buddy helping a range of people with IT problems, she soon became very popular with her clients as a result of her friendly and helpful nature.'
Lesley Capper - Even though she is now fully qualified she continues to volunteer at two regular groups in the Children's Centre per week. She is so dedicated that she helps in the rooms or other groups when we need and often leads a group on her own when we are short staffed.'

Thomas Binns - 'Thomas has been working with the under 13 age group for 18 months. In March 2011 he took and passed his level 1 coaching certificate with Staffordshire FA. Thomas has since then coached the under 13's every week and been there to cheer them on at matches and offer encouragement to 10 footballers who would not otherwise get to play football.'

Ken Mellor - 'Ken has volunteered in the Walled Garden at Shugborough virually since it opened. He does more hours per week than any other volunteer we have, in fact he consistently does as many hours as a full-time member of staff! He is very very hard-working, most unassuming, coy about his age but is truly a remarkable individual.'
Doreen Whittaker - 'Doreen originally helped in the Nursery for 1 day a week for a period of 8 years. She is now a regular in school helping on trips, helping to improve the school environment and even helps the caretaker on some projects, whilst continuing to assist with the young children in nursery.'
Mandy Binns - 'My wife Mandy a real difference to children and adults with Autism and learning difficulties. She is Branch Chair of Stafford National Autistic Branch which runs a stay and play club and a youth club.Mandy is a parent volunteer for Midlands Psychology and a member of Staffordshire Parent Action Network (SPAN).'
Carol Dodd - she became part of our team as a Lunchtime superviser, where her role has grown from strength to strength, supporting children during challenging part of the day.'
Various - 'The team of volunteers who helped us for 3 weeks in July did an excellent job with queue managing our 21,000 visitors to the Staffordshire Hoard exhibition at the Shire Hall Gallery.'
YouthAction Kouncil (Transport) - 'The Youth Action Kouncil (YAK) have canvassed the views of young people regarding public transport use and campaigned for the introduction of a concession card.'
Youth Action Kouncil (Anti bullying) - 'From research we know that bullying is a major issue for young people and YAK chose to select bullyign as one of their 2 campaigns.'
Special Olympics Stafford - 'Clive Gibson started Special Olympics Stafford athletics / multi balls skills club in 2003, with 6 ahtletes building to our present 58. Head coach Clive, 4 main coaches and 5 assistance coaches providing qualified training on a voluntary basis Saturday mornings.'
Judy & Gil Sadler - 'Husband and Wife team: Judy and Gil Sadler have worked with us at Shugborough for a couple of years, Working on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings during which time they have "mostly singlehandedly" raised the presentation of the Island garden around Lord Lichfield's tennis court.'
